Peking University Shenzhen Hospital, formerly known as "Shenzhen Central Hospital", is a modern comprehensive hospital invested and built by the Shenzhen Municipal Government. The hospital was completed and opened at the end of 1999. In September 2001, the Shenzhen Municipal Government cooperated with Peking University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. The hospital was renamed "Peking University Shenzhen Hospital" and "Peking University Shenzhen Clinical School", and incorporated into the management system of Peking University Hospital . In 2011, it was evaluated as a tertiary first-class hospital by the Guangdong Provincial Hospital Evaluation Committee.
The hospital covers an area of 59,000 square meters, with 800 hospital beds and 1,200 hospital beds actually open. After the new surgical building is put into use in 2015, the total construction area of the hospital will reach 223,000 square meters and the total number of beds will reach 1,600-1800. The Medical Imaging Department of Peking University Shenzhen Hospital is a key medical specialty in Shenzhen. Established in August 1999. In 2002, it was rated as a key medical specialty of Shenzhen. In 2004, the post-doctoral mobile station of Peking University Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Medical Center. In 2005, it was awarded a master's degree by Peking University School of Medicine and Shantou University School of Medicine.
