The predecessor of the hospital was Hefei Christ Hospital. It was founded in 1898. After the baptism of wind and rain, it has developed into a province with advanced equipment, complete specialties, and strong technical force, integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, health care, rehabilitation, and first aid The first-level large-scale tertiary-level A comprehensive hospital ranks 79th in the Fudan University Hospital Ranking. Currently, it is under the dual management of the University of Science and Technology of China and the Anhui Provincial Health Commission, with the management of the University of Science and Technology of China as the main management.

The hospital consists of the General Hospital (Headquarters), Southern District (Anhui Brain Hospital, Anhui Cardiovascular Hospital), West District (Anhui Cancer Hospital), Infectious Disease Hospital (Hefei Infectious Disease Hospital) and Reproductive and Genetic Branch. Geriatric Rehabilitation Center and Beicheng Hospital are under construction.
